Amaqunube is a South African children’s clothing brand inspired by love, care and the quiet magic of early childhood. Designed for comfort and created with intention. Our clothing is made for babies and young children who are just beginning their journey of life.
The name Amaqunube is isiXhosa for “berries” a symbol of something small, precious and full of life. This meaning sits at the heart of the brand, caring deeply for children’s comfort, supporting parents’ peace of mind and approaching every detail with thoughtfulness because the smallest lives deserve the greatest care.
Amaqunube was founded by Sindiswa Zulu-Mdluli, a mother who lovingly calls her children Strawberry and Raspberry. What began as affectionate nicknames grew into a powerful symbol of sweetness, individuality and how precious children truly are.
Like berries, babies are delicate and full of promise. They need softness, protection and the right environment to grow. Amaqunube exists to honour those early beginnings through clothing that feels gentle, considered and made with great care.
Designed for comfort and created with intention
As a mother, I’ve always believed that the smallest lives deserve the greatest care. I call my children Amaqunube "Berries", a name filled with affection, meaning and joy. From that name came Amaqunube Kids Fashion.
This brand is my way of honouring childhood, culture and the quiet moments that shape a family. Every piece you find here is chosen with the same care I give my own children – soft, comfortable and made for real life.
